Aloha! My name is Amber Anderson. I have danced for most of my life. I started out
doing tap and jazz as a kindergartner and continued through elementary school.
In 2001 I joined Tina's Sights and Sounds of Islands a local Polynesian group in
Jamul, Ca with instructor Tina Kaufman. After many years of practice and dedication
I became a student instructor and choreographer.
Island Dancers of San Diego was established in 2011 so that I could share my love
of the islands with anyone who is willing to dance. Our original studio location
was at Jamul School of Performing Arts in Jamul from 2011-2014 and we moved to our
new location Young Actor’s Theater in January of 2015.
I have performed at many places around San Diego county including; retirement homes,
residential care facilities for those with developmental disabilities, birthday parties,
college/high school graduations, the Mother Goose Parade, San Diego County Fair,
Steele Canyon Golf Course, elementary schools and countless other venues.
I further my education of Polynesian culture and dance by attending workshops in
both Tahitian and Hawaiian Dance whenever possible to expand my knowledge and love
of the islands.
Mahalo to all of my friends, family and my husband Brandon for supporting me and
allowing me to share the island spirit!
